Greetings, 
The Virginia State University Foundation Board of Trustees and Staff is pleased to express 
our appreciation for the support we receive from the Office of Advancement and External 
Engagement (AEEO).  Their partnership is proving to be invaluable as we continue to 
strengthen our university’s financial position in a very competitive environment.
Our Foundation Board talent is an outstanding mix.  We have corporate executives, 
business owners, attorneys, data analyst, non-profit experience, banking executives 
and CPAs.  This mix ensures that the Board will continue to provide visionary leadership 
to managing its financial assets.
The Virginia State University Foundation serves as an affiliated organization with a 
mission of assisting the University through financial support and financial management 
services.  In fiscal year 2024, Foundation endowments and operating funds given by 
corporations, alumni and friends, provided the university with $912,813 in scholarships, 
$134,440 for athletics, and $1,907,488 to Programs for an approximate total of 
$2,966,741.  This is approximately $720,000 more than last fiscal year.
The Foundation is continuing to partner with the Universality in purchasing properties 
on its borders.  This is a significant step towards ensuring the University controls its 
footprint and allows it to create a safer environment.
The Foundation is very appreciative of AEEO for its dedication and commitment to 
its mission.  This allows the Foundation assets to grow.  Our successful partnership 
strengthens both missions and directly benefits the University and its students.

VIRGINIA STATE UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION
Statements of Financial Position
The VSU Foundation is a separate non-profit organization established to support the university by raising and managing 
private funds, such as donations, endowments, and investment income. The Foundation is governed by a board of trustees 
made up of alumni, community members, and university representatives.
